And there are countless other moments that hold a special place in my heart but THIS BOOK was everything. I still absolutely love the soup scene in the mountains with Feyre and Rhysand (you know the one I mean). In fact, Nesta’s story and character development became my favorite above all else. Here’s the wild part… Nesta’s book is my favorite. I am tired of wanting to be anywhere but in my own head. She wasn’t sure why the words bubbled up, pressing on her lips to voice them. I am worthless and I am nothing, Nesta nearly said. If those rewards were supposed to be emotional trauma and having my heart ripped out and put back together more times than I could even count… then this book hit its mark. They told me to suck it up and read her book and reap the rewards. However, there were people with whom I hold quite a high level of respect who told me I needed to press on. In fact, I put off reading this book for a WHILE after finishing Feyre’s trilogy and novella simply because I had no interest in having to deal with any more of Nesta’s rude, demeaning attitude. So I was going to start this with a “confession” but it seems like, based on a lot of the other reviews I’ve read on this book, I’m not actually in the minority here.
